All 3 Majors Closed Lower On A Sharp Spike In Crude Oil Prices

The 3 major indexes finished the day lower as crude oil prices spiked: BP is taking the Prudhoe Bay, Alaska oil field offline while the company fixes corroded pipes. Expectations that the Fed will choose to pause their rate-raising regimen at tomorrow's FOMC meeting helped to stem losses in the New York equities markets today. 1,346,422,080 shares were traded @ The New York Stock Exchange®.

Shares of NewMarket Corporation (NEU) gained $4.43 (+8.35%) to close @ $57.50.

Shares of Frontline Ltd. (FRO) gained $2.15 (+5.56%) to close @ $40.82.

Shares of Opinion Research Corporation (ORCI) gained $5.38 (+86.77%) to close @ $11.58.

Shares of Syneron Medical Ltd. (ELOS) gained $3.03 (+16.37%) to close @ $21.54.

Shares of Hansen Natural Corporation (HANS) fell by $10.40 (-25.84%) to close @ $29.85.
