Construction Spending during June, 2006
The U.S. Census Bureau--which is part of the U.S. Commerce Department--this morning released their Construction Spending report for June, 2006:
Consensus: +0.2%
Actual: +0.3%
The above percentages represent the month-to-month change in new public and private construction activity for the United States. The "consensus" is what economists and Wall Street forecasters were expecting, while the "actual" is the actual or real figure.
Overall construction spending is up by 6.8% when compared to the numbers from June, 2005.
